State Park contractors, GLF Construction Corp., are making great progress in replacing the retaining wall and improving the top parking lot in the Park. (see photo updates) Duke Power will be preparing for and installing power poles and lines as a part of this project. On Tues., July 28, the Park will be open for hiking only while Duke gets their equipment and materials in place. No shuttle service will be available. All guests will have to park at the Meadows lot midway into the Park and hike up the Four Seasons and along the Hickory Nut Falls trails before reaching the stairs that will lead to the Outcroppings trail and eventually to the Rock. The elevator will be open to ride up only. Masks are required.

The Park will be closed on Wed., July 29 and Thurs., July 30 while Duke installs the power poles and pulls the lines up the mountain.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding. With no unexpected delays, this improved parking area could be open by early this fall.
