A Hiking Trail for Everyone

PLEASE NOTE — The SKYLINE TRAIL to EXCLAMATION POINT is open. The CLIFF TRAIL to the top of HICKORY NUT FALLS remains CLOSED FOR IMPROVEMENTS.
Visitors can still access the Opera Box, Devil's Head and the highest spot in the Park, Exclamation Point, which surrounds you with panoramic views of Hickory Nut Gorge.

Get ready to explore! The Park features five unique hiking trails—some of the best in North Carolina. Here, you’ll have an opportunity to see rare and indigenous plants, unusual geological formations and a variety of native wildlife. The trails range in skill level from easy to strenuous. Whether you want a leisurely stroll, a challenging hike or something fun and interactive for the kids, Chimney Rock has the perfect trail for you. Most trails are open all year, weather permitting.
