Donna Wahmann
Park Horticulturist
Park Horticulturist Donna Wahmann began working for Chimney Rock Park in 1998. Since that time, she has expanded the Horticulture team to provide more aesthetic landscaping throughout the Park, and together they have developed a site conducive for growing plants for Park use and to make available to the general public.
Donna had the vision to encourage Nursery Curator Ron Lance to join the team to establish a wholesale and retail native plant nursery.
When not busy digging in the dirt and supporting her team, Donna provides horticulture related educational activities that support and promote the unique flora that is found in Chimney Rock Park.
Donna’s experience in horticulture prior to joining the Chimney Rock Park team includes eight years of gardening and landscape maintenance for Biltmore Estate and the Biltmore Forest Country Club, and an Associate degree in Horticulture from Haywood Community College.
Donna also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Northern Arizona University and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from Eastern Carolina University.
