Note: This event will take place at Tryon International Equestrian Center
Join us for a special Fall Homeschool Day at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, where we’ll embrace the beauty of the season! Start the morning with our Chimney Rock naturalists and animal ambassadors learning about the fascinating ways nature changes in the fall. Afterward, spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant shops and restaurants around TIEC. There’s so much to discover while we reconnect with our homeschool friends!
Morning Programs – Orientation begins promptly at 9:45 am
Predator vs. Prey
Join a park naturalist and some of the park’s animal ambassadors to discover why their roles in the ecosystem are so important. Explore the adaptations that determine an animal’s place in the food chain and the importance of predators and prey in nature. Students will play a fun game to test their skills.
Magical Migration
This engaging program introduces the process of migration and what makes it so magical. Students will learn how species in their own backyard make an incredible journey in order to survive. At the end of the program, a fun activity lets everyone experience migration for themselves.
Meet a Tree
Get to know our amazing forest neighbors—trees! Learn how these natural giants can live for over 100 years and the incredible changes they undergo to prepare for winter. Find out which animals depend on trees for a cozy shelter during the chilly months. Plus, enjoy creating a craft together at the end.
Afternoon Options – Beginning at 12:30pm
