We’ve had our Chimney Rock experiences. Now share yours!
Chimney Rock is a special place; for generations, the people who have visited here have made lifetime memories. We’ve heard stories from folks who remember when you had to climb a ladder to reach the top of the Chimney. Guests tell us of jeep rides they took as kids down the Hickory Nut Falls trail. And we still get videos from guys who raced up the road to Chimney Rock during the Chimney Rock Hillclimb.

One of my most favorite places! Today was so much fun! Finally got those season passes to enjoy all year! Everyone there is so friendly, nice and helpful! Thank you for another great day! Spectacular vistas! See you soon! The Green Mountain Girl has always felt at home right here!
My college sweetheart and I visited Chimney Rock during spring break on March 15, 2010. We had so much fun taking goofy pictures, and visiting your lovely shop on top of the Rock. When we got to the Opera Box and soaked in those breathtaking views, my sweetheart wanted to look at the pictures we had taken that day. As we scrolled through our pictures we came to one that I definitely did not remember taking. It was a picture of a beautiful ring in a beautiful box. My now husband, and most recently father of our newborn twin girls, got down on one knee in the Opera Box and told me that he wanted to spend the rest of our lives chasing more breathtaking views with me. Chimney Rock will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait for the day we can visit with our girls to show them where our life together truly began!
That’s a beautiful story!
HIKED THE ROCK WITH FAMILY – DAUGHTER BECAME ILL BECAUSE OF WEATHER.
THANKS TO DEREK AND SARAH FOR BEING SO KIND AND PATIENT WITH HER.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
I live in Florida. Two weeks ago I drove my 79 year old mother to WNC for her vacation. We went to Chimney Rock park because of the elevator to the top. I had my dog, so I had to hike up, and while pulling my phone out to take a photo (took a bunch!) I lost my wallet. Being almost 60 myself (and WAY out of breath!), I made the decision to NOT go back and look for it.
Yesterday ( 5 days after the visit to the park) I got my wallet in the mail!
there was a note saying “this was found in the upper parking lot”. It was unsigned, but I want to acknowledge the entire staff of the park. EVERYONE we interacted with was extremely friendly and went out of their way to assist my mother and myself, making this the BEST N.C. experience we’ve had EVER!
Our group of 29 from Augusta Korean Methodist Church had a wonderful catered lunch and tour of Chimney Rock. Many thanks to the kind, generous, and professional staff, especially to Talia for reservation arrangements and Amanda for hands on guidance. Hope to come back with the rest of the family. Thanks again!
I’m a local and had never visited Chimney Rock before… soooo on our 33 wedding anniversary, we went adventuring this morning. Loved it! Breath taking views!
Hi Charlene! We’re so happy you enjoyed your visit to our beautiful Park. Come back and see us soon!
