Join a Park Naturalist to meet some of our resident Animal Ambassadors. Participants will learn what kind of wildlife inhabits the Park and their important role in the ecosystem. You might even leave with a newfound appreciation for critters you once misunderstood.
Saturday, August 14
Hickory Nut Falls is a hidden gem within the Park. This 404-foot waterfall is one of the tallest of its kind east of the Mississippi. Enjoy a guided hike out to the Falls to discover what inhabits this area. This 5-hour journey is considered a moderate hike and does require pre-registration. Reserve your spot below.

Sunday, August 15
End the race weekend on a high note, literally! Starting at the Best View Motel on the west side of Chimney Rock Village, the course takes you through the entrance of Chimney Rock State Park and climbs up the switchback road ending at the base of the Rock with a stunning 75-mile panoramic view of the Hickory Nut Gorge and Lake Lure. This is the only time you can ever run up the Park road. Register here.

Bask in lunar energy during this full moon yoga session with Namaste in Nature. The mountains are said to be a natural vortex of spiritual energy, which makes Chimney Rock an ideal setting for connecting your spirit with nature.
Lightweight yoga mats will be provided by your certified yoga teacher. This class is open to all levels of expertise. Advance registration is required. Book your spot below.

Come observe the Park under a shadow of darkness and watch as it comes alive. Join a Park naturalist as you hike along the Hickory Nut Falls trail, a moderate hike. You never know what nocturnal animals you may hear or see. You will want to bring a headlamp or flashlight, dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water. Space is limited to 15, and advance registration is required. Reserve your spot below.
