Say hello to spring with the first installment of Chimney Rock’s brand new wine and design style paint series. Join a professional local artist and celebrate NC State Parks’ Year of the Tree by creating your own beautiful spring tree portrait. Classes will be held at the Old Rock Café. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase local craft beer & wine as well as appetizers.

Why don’t llamas like to sing with backup music? “They prefer to sing alpacapella.”
What’s a llama’s favorite drink? “Llamanade.”
What do llamas say when they meet someone new? “Fleeced to meet you!”
Imagine hiking with one of these wooly, camel-like companions. At Llamapalooza, you’ll have a chance to escort llamas on a hike along the Parks’ half-mile Great Woodland Adventure loop trail. During your excursion, you will learn more about the llamas and pose with them for fun photo ops. This event is exclusively for annual passholders.

Spend an hour hiking one of the Parks’ six trails with a naturalist. Watch the transformation from winter to spring on this educational excursion. You may even learn some of the Parks’ history as well. Meet in front of Cliff Dwellers Gifts.

As the seasons change, awaken your senses to the natural world around you on this guided meditation experience with Namaste in Nature. De-stress during this peaceful hike focused on reconnecting with nature and yourself. This mindfulness experience will be centered on awakening.

Scope out spring migratory species from our spot on the NC Birding Trail as they make their way back from their winter hideaways in sunnier regions. Bring your binoculars to get a peek at numerous species traveling north through the Park. Just how many will you add to your list?
